Golf
There are several golf courses with a 20 km radius, including Galway Golf Club, Bearna, Glenlo Abbey, Oughterard, Galway Bay and Athenry.
Swimming
During the summer months, swimming is polular along the promenade, or just 2km away at Silver Strand. The Leisureland complex offers state of the art indoor swimming facilities.
Tennis
The Galway Lawn Tennis Club is just a few hundred meters walk away.
Walking
A walk from Salthill’s Blackrock (beside Coolin House) to Galway City Centre takes in many of the sights of Galway.
Fishing
Course fishing is available in Gaway Bay, while fresh water fishing is available on Lough Corrib, or on one of the lakes towards Moycullen.
Horse Racing
Glaway’s Ballybrit race track is home to one of the biggest race meetings anywhere in the world. The festival meeting is held during the last week of july each year. There are also many other day meetings through-out the racing year.
